Teeth Whitening

Most teeth can be whitened. CreekSide Family Dentistry uses three different methods. The fastest method is our 1.5-hour in-office whitening treatment. A whitening gel is placed on your teeth for approximately 1.5-hours. One additional at-home step is required entailing 3 to 4 extra applications, each lasting 20-minutes. Once complete, your teeth will be noticeably whiter, up to 6-shades.

The second whitening method is take-home whitening strips. Stronger than strips purchased from a local grocery or drug store, the whitening strips are worn for several hours each day. After using a complete box of strips, you’ll notice whiter teeth.

The third method is custom fitted trays that hold the bleach gel against your teeth. This system requires 2 weeks of home use, but can achieve similar results to the in-office bleaching treatment.

Composite Bonding

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is a popular treatment option because it provides a bond between the filling material and the tooth’s surface. It looks like the original tooth and functions like it too.

Dr. Brandhorst will apply a small amount of color-matched composite material to the area of concern. The composite is then shaped and hardened into place. Once we’re finished, it will look as if your tooth is completely whole and natural!

Veneers

Veneers are a dental procedure in which a porcelain or ceramic covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers can enhance the shade and position of your teeth. Veneering procedures are classified into two types – prep and no prep. With no prep veneers, teeth are very close to ideal position and require only adjustments on shade or to close spaces between teeth.

Veneers that require the teeth to be prepped are slightly more involved. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.
